The Concordia model has been designed in consultation with Investors to both provide an attractive investment model and to help the house building industry to build more homes without relying on public subsidy, whilst still providing Planning Policy Statement 3 ('PPS3') compliant provision at an affordable occupation cost.
Concordia provides a way to: enhance the value of affordable housing to the Landowner / Housebuilder; progress stalled sites; progress sites which have marginal viability, and, in particular, regenerate schemes which have the overt objective of achieving a sustainable community with a flexible mix of tenures.
Dwellings provided via the Concordia model meet the tests in the Planning Policy Statement 3 Affordable Housing definition, and enable homes to be provided to eligible households at a cost that is low enough for them to afford with the opportunity for them to subsequently purchase under Shared Ownership terms that accord with Homes and Communities Agency criteria.
